Imagine that you are approached to join the Clappers, the novel’s futuristic terrorists. How would you respond? What would you tell them?

I would deny their offer, then go tell somebody that can do something about it. If somebody can get them off the streets, then there are that many less clappers, and maybe more ‘recruits’. It would be hard to talk to them if you wanted to  because “It echoes in the kids around them, in an instant it reaches critical mass, and the entire crowd is in full-blown panic.” I would ask them why are they doing this. Then I would tell them to stop doing it.
